As part of social and environmental responsibility, collaborative efforts between TubanPetro and its subsidiaries with the community are always undertaken to achieve common goals in social, economic, and environmental aspects. This partnership places TubanPetro group in a favorable position at the heart of the community.Simultaneously, the community relies on TubanPetro group to address their social issues, creating a mutually beneficial relationship. Corporate Social & Enviroment Responsibility Program Plan
The close collaboration between TubanPetro and the community since the Company’s foundation has enabled us to understand that the CSR program they need emphasizes the “Triple Bottom Line” philosophy, which emphasizes the importance of balancing Profit, People, and Planet (3P). TubanPetro ensures that its CSR programs not only protect the environment (Planet) and contribute to the prosperity of the community (People) but also align with the Company’s growth in terms of financial and operational aspects (Profit).
Building upon the CSR initiatives of the previous year, TubanPetro, along with its subsidiaries, has addressed various aspects through its CSR programs, including health, education, economics, social, cultural, religious programs, and environmental initiatives. TubanPetro has also considered its employees as beneficiaries of CSR programs, particularly in terms of employment, as well as occupational health and safety.
CSR Programs of PT Tuban Petrochemical Industries (TUBANPETRO)
TubanPetro’s CSR program prioritizes continous initiatives, conducted annually with diverse variations and developments to maximize benefits for stakeholders.Similarly to previous years, one of TubanPetro’s CSR programs was conducted in collaboration with its subsidiary, PT Tuban Propilena Nusantara (TPN). Exploring Sumatra is a social roadshow activity conducted in West Sumatera. TubanPetro, together with TPN, donated learning kits to a number of schools, orphanages, and Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in July 2023, encouraging them to be more active in learning.
As a holding company, TubanPetro extended the reach of its social activities as a form of contribution for the broader community, particularly in advancing education for the younger generation.
TubanPetro spent Rp15 million (excluding TPN) for the Exploring Sumatra program in 2023.
Batch 4 of Karya Salemba Empat Scholarships
TubanPetro remains actively involved in the Karya Salemba Empat (KSE) Scholarship program. In 2023, TubanPetro continued the fourth batch of KSE from November 2023 to August 2024.During the period, TubanPetro donated funds totaling Rp55,872,600 for regular scholarship allowances
and various social activities involving scholarship recipients. These scholarships were awarded to outstanding students from low-income families. Throughout 2023, 7 (seven) students from 5 (five) different state universities benefited from TubanPetro through the KSE scholarship program.
The social activities in which scholarship recipients participated were vary, among them was educating movement with the theme “Character Building for Indonesia’s Future Leader” to commemorate the National Education Day which was held on May 27, 2023, at various foster care and social care. A total of 17 children, ranging from elementary school age to teenagers, attended as participants. On a separate occasion, the students delivered character-building and social science material to participants ranging from teenagers to housewives.
Another notable social activity was the Nusantara Waste Collection Movement, held in commemoration of National Waste Awareness Day. Scholarship recipients joined in cleaning up rubbish in densely populated areas of Surabaya.
Planting of 2,500 Mangrove Trees
TubanPetro demonstrates its commitment to environmental conservation through collaboration with the forest protection foundation (Yayasan Lindungi Hutan). TubanPetro donated Rp50 million to plant 2,500 mangrove trees on Mangunharjo Beach, Semarang.
This initiative was conducted to coincide with National Tree Planting Month and was part of the Greening Season movement (#MusimPenghijauan). Mangunharjo Beach was selected due to Semarang’s location on the north coast of Java Island, which is home to a significant mangrove ecosystem stretching along the coastline.
The preservation of Mangunharjo Beach is crucial for maintaining Green Open Space (RTH) and ensuring environmental sustainability in the region.
CSR Programs of PT Tuban Propilena Nusantara(TPN)
As mentioned earlier, TPN collaborated with TubanPetro in conducting CSR programs in the social sector, benefiting students in various schools, orphanages, and pesantren across Sumatra.TPN allocated Rp15 million towards donating a variety of learning kits to facilitate educational activities.
This donation was handed over to third-party organizations to be distributed to students in need.
