CSR Programs of PT Pplytama Propindo (POLYTAMA)

Polytama’s CSR programs throughout 2023 were mostly concentrated on environmental preservation. Several programs were continuations from previous years, persistently developed to generate maximum benefits. Polytama’s environmental preservation programs serve not only to protect the environment because several programs were beneficial in stimulating the local community’s economy. Through the utilization of plants and waste, those programs fostered circular economic activities, generating multiple benefits.

I-Masaro Program

I-MASARO Environmental Management Program and its Generated Product “ Teh Jinten The I-MASARO environmental management program actively engaged the community, encouraging smarter waste management for society’s benefit.

Primarily involving former migrant workers in Tinumpuk Village, 127 programs were implemented in 2023. The tangible outcomes of the I-MASARO program are invaluable, producing derivative products such as liquid fertilizer and bioinsecticides. Notably, one product, branded as Teh Jinten, has high market value in the beverage sector and has been professionally marketed.

The I-MASARO program has transitioned into the phase of program independence in 2023.

Program Sehati

Polytama oversees a eucalyptus (kayu putih) green open space in Margadadi Subdistrict, Indramayu Regency, known as Taman Kehati.

Managed by a group of 7 members, this area serves as a breeding ground for Timorensis deer and an educational tourism site focusing on park preservation protection and protected animal habitats. Taman Kehati has welcomed 1,086 visitors, including the general public for tourism and students from various universities for research purposes.

In addition to its educational role, Taman Kehati produces compost fertilizer, hydroponic vegetables, eucalyptus oil, and key chain souvenirs. These products contribute to both environmental sustainability and local economic development.

SEHATI Program

The SEHATI program, initiated by Polytama in 11 elementary schools (SD), promoted environmental awareness from a young age. Through this program, Polytama fostered a culture of environmental care and innovation, producing 26 SEHATI Ambassadors who embody values of environmental stewardship.

One notable initiative of the SEHATI Program was the #PlastikBaik campaign, aimed at raising awareness among children about responsible waste management, particularly plastic waste. Through this campaign, young students are encouraged to be responsible of their waste and adopt sustainable practices.

Ekoriparian Program of Tjimanoek Lama River

Polytama is actively involved in managing the Ekoriparian program along the banks of the Tjimanoek Lama River, which serves as a green open space area. This initiative is overseen by a community group consisting of 8 (eight) individuals dedicated to maintaining cleanliness and preservation of the area.

In addition to serving as a green space, the banks of the Tjimanoek Lama River host a biodigester for processing organic waste into methane gas, providing a valuable resource for the local community. This methane gas is utilized by culinary traders in Cimanuk, while the leachate derived from organic waste processing is repurposed as liquid organic fertilizer (POC), further benefiting the community.

Neng Kanaya Program

Polytama has initiated the Neng Kanaya program, a social initiative aimed at teenagers residing in Ring 1 Villages such as Tinumpuk Village, Limbangan Village, and Lombang Village. The Neng Kanaya program serves as a mentoring and educational platform for teenagers, focusing on preventing early marriage and the contraction of sexually transmitted diseases.

Demonstrating genuine concern for the future of the younger generation, Polytama equipped the young generation with essential life skills through education. Currently, the Neng Kanaya group has 28 members who actively engage in various positive activities during their free time, thereby steering clear of negative influences and other social issues that pose a threat.

Bang Pilo Program

Polytama organized a social innovation program called the Bang Pilo that lies within the scope of #PlastikBaik campaign. Through Bang Pilo, Polytama highlighted the economic benefits of plastic, particularly food-grade plastic, for local communities.

The community engaged in the Bang Pilo program resides in Lombang Village and comprises of 31 members. Remarkably, the Bang Pilo program has successfully expanded the market for vacuum-packaged pindang products to several regions across Indonesia and even reached international markets.
