CSR Program of PT Petro OXO Nusantara (PON)

PON is dedicated to conducting CSR initiatives that emphasize sustainable development to generate a positive impact on society across social, economic, and environmental aspects. The CSR program that had been implemented in 2023 became more significant due to PON’s involvement in the PROPER assessment, particularly concerning community development aspects. This highlighted the importance of ensuring that TubanPetro Group’s CSR commitments adhered to the highest standards, thereby maximizing the benefits received by stakeholders. In 2023, PON obtained the GREEN Rank PROPER.

Education Program

CSR programs in the education sector were focused on improving the quality of education for the younger generation, thereby contributing to the nation’s progress. PON supported 10 students in Lumpur Subdistrict to finish the 2023-2026 School Year with Kejar Paket B (special program for school dropouts to obtain graduation certificate), facilitating their secondary level education to support the 12-year compulsory education program. Additionally, PON supported the literacy programs at UPT State Primary School 20 Gresik.

Expanding its educational initiatives, PON engaged in religious education, particularly for orphans. The Company gave scholarships to 5 (five) orphans who excel in memorizing the A;-Quran in collaboration with Amil Zakat (social alms) Nurul Hayat and organized regular prayer gathering and donations for orphans in the Lumpur and Tlogopojok Subdistricts. Throughout 2023, prayer activities have been conducted 6 (six) times.

Beyond educational programs for students, PON encouraged employees to continue developing and learning. The Company organized an Employee Innovation Competition (LKIK) themed “Ideas, Innovation, and Improvement from All Aspects in the Company Area” to foster innovation for the organization to thrive.

Health Program

PON collaborated with PMI Gresik organize blood donation activities, contributing to maintaining blood supplies, particularly in areas where PON operates. PON employees also participated in these blood donation activities.

Apart from that, PON also distributed supplies of consumables to PMI Gresik. This assistance was provided to support PMI Gresik’s activities for the surrounding community.

Improvements of Public Facilities

PON is dedicated to improving public facilities, aiming to contribute positively to the community. This is shown by repairing damaged infrastructure, constructing new facilities, and donating various resources to support community needs. These supports are intended to ensure the safety of residents while engaging in their daily activities. In 2023, PON performed several projects to improve public facilities.

These projects included infrastructure improvements at military base (Koramil) 0817/05, installation of village street lighting, decks and other facilities repair, and maintenance of boat moorings in the Tlogopojok and Lumpur Subdistricts. Additionally, PON facilitated the construction of village street lighting in the RT 002/RW 003 of Tlogopojok subdistrict.

Disaster Relief

PON has always been responsive in helping those affected by natural disasters across Indonesia. The assistance extended by PON ranges from financial contributions to essential goods, aimed at relieving the hardships faced by all those who are affected. This support is channeled through official national donation agencies or directly to the emergency posts established at the disaster location.

In 2023, PON provided assistance to address the Bengawan Solo River flood and the Mount Arjuno forest fire, demonstrating its commitment to aiding communities in times of crisis.

Environmental Preservation

PON demonstrated its commitment to environmental care through innovative approaches aimed at raising awareness of the significance of environmental preservation. In 2023, commemorating PON’s 25th anniversary, PON organized an environmental poster design competition for the Karang Taruna Tlogopojok and Lumpur communities.

This competition serves as an initiative to enhance environmental consciousness by actively involving residents, particularly those residing in Ring 1.

Furthermore, PON initiated the environmental champions of the Empowered Community Caring for the Environment (MASBERLING), to deliver Waste Freedom education to local residents. MASBERLING was formed as a result of collaboration with the Indonesian Waste Bank Association of Gresik Branch and the Environment and Forestry Institution of Gresik Regency. The objective is to empower residents with knowledge that fosters a greater sense of responsibility and understanding regarding proper waste disposal practices, thereby contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment.

Supporting Religious Activities

PON extended its support to residents in their annual or routine religious celebrations, as well as in maintaining religious facilities. This support includes the renovation of mosque and mushola to ensure the comfort of residents in fulfilling their religious duties.

In 2023, PON participated in various initiatives such as the construction of mosque towers, repair of mosque roofs, and renovation of mushola in Tlogopojok and Lumpur subdistricts. Additionally, PON has renovated the Al Qur’an Education Park.

Furthermore, PON supported the religious activities of residents in the vicinity of the plant, particularly during major religious celebrations such as Isra’ Mi’raj, the Prophet’s birthday, and Eid al-Adha. During Eid al-Adha, PON donated sacrificial animals.

Social & Community Empowerment Program

PON supported the economic empowerment of local communities to enhance their standard of living.

In 2023, PON hosted a Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs/UMKM) Festival in collaboration with the UMKM Bersatu Korda Gresik. Additionally, ongoing development programs with various partners remain continued. PON gave training regarding “Branding Strategies for MSMEs” to all its partner enterprises (Mitra Binaan PON). To further support these partners, PON has established champions who will assist them with licensing, legality, and business operations. These champions were formed as part of a collaborative initiative with the UMKM Bersatu Foundation and the Gresik Regency Cooperative and Trade Institution.

Furthermore, PON has collaborated with BPJS Manpower Gresik Regency to offer protection to 100 vulnerable workers. These workers, categorized as economically disadvantaged and lacking access to BPJS, will receive support to help cover their contributions.
